Grid Tactician

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Grid Tactician is slow in the best way. Each map is a puzzle you solve with soldiers, supply lines and a lot of second-guessing. Lose a unit and it stays lost, which keeps every move tense. It never felt cheap, just demanding.

Pinch-zoom and drag work smoothly, and tapping a unit shows its reach clearly. The one annoyance is that fat-finger misclicks can cost you a turn, so I played it mostly on a bigger screen. There's an undo for movement before you commit, thankfully.

It's gentle on battery for long stretches because so much of the time is spent thinking, not animating. A thinking-person's strategy game that respects your attention.
