Which game genres actually fit a five-minute break

Session length matters more than people admit when picking a mobile game. Some genres are built for long sittings; others shine in gaps.

Casual and puzzle games are the obvious winners. You can stop mid-round without guilt. The same goes for adventure games with constant autosaves, like Lantern Hollow, which never punishes you for leaving.

RPGs and strategy are trickier. A turn-based fight can be paused, but a long story scene doesn't want to be interrupted. I save those for the sofa, not the queue at the post office.

If your gaming happens in scraps throughout the day, lean casual. If you get a quiet evening, that's when the deeper genres finally get room to breathe.
